چکیده

This paper describes a 1.9 GHz, 25 mW , 0.25 μm CMOS Low Noise Amplifier (LNA), intended for use in a DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Communications) Receiver. The LNA has been simulated with Cadence Spectre and the results show that it provides a gain of more than 15 dB, for a noise figure of 2dB, and an input referred IP3 of −5dBm. We present the LNA architecture and the circuit analysis along with some considerations on the layout of the inductors used, and the results of the simulations.

Design and Fabrication of a 9–11 GHz Balanced Low Noise Amplifier Using HJFET

This paper describes the design of an X-band balanced low noise amplifier (LNA) using an available HJFET device. The balanced LNA consists of a pair of electrically similar transistors whose input and output signals are divided or combined by 3 dB two-stage Wilkinson power dividers. The proposed balanced LNA is fabricated and measured. The measured results show that the noise figure is 1.30 dB ...

Design of an S-band Ultra-low-noise Amplifier with Frequency Band Switching Capability

In this paper, an ultra-low-noise amplifier with frequency band switching capability is designed, simulated and fabricated. The two frequency ranges of this amplifier consist of the 2.4 to 2.5 GHz and 3.1 GHz to 3.15 GHz frequency bands. The designed amplifier has a noise figure of less than 1dB, a minimum gain of 23 dB and a VSWR of less than 2 in the whole frequency band. The design process s...

A New Ultra-Wideband Low Noise Amplifier With Continuous Gain Control

This paper presents a new variable gain low noise amplifier (VG-LNA) for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications. The proposed VG-LNA uses a common-source (CS) with a shunt-shunt active feedback as an input stage to realize input matching and partial noise cancelling. An output stage consists of a gain-boosted CS cascode and a gain control circuit that moves the high resonant frequency to higher freq...

A Concurrent Dual-Band Low Noise Amplifier for GNSS Receivers

In this paper, a new design of concurrent dual-band Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) for multi-band single-channel Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers is proposed. This new structure is able to operate concurrently at frequency of 1.2 and 1.57 GHz. Parallel and series resonance parts are employed in the input matching in order to achieve concurrent performance. With respect to used pse...

A Novel Resistive Capacitive Feedback Trans-impedance Amplifier Optimization Using IPSO Algorithm

A novel low noise trans-impedance amplifier is proposed using low cost 0.18 µm CMOS technology. A resistive-capacitive feedback is used to extend the bandwidth of the amplifier. As the structure is inductor less, it is suitable for low cost integrated optical interconnects. In this paper Improved Particle Swarm Optimization have applied to determine optimal trans-resistance and noise of propose...
